eFTI4EU (CEF – Connecting Europe Facility)

  • Project objective: under the eFTI Regulation (EU) 2020/1056, from mid-2027 the competent authorities of EU member states will be required to accept freight-transport information submitted electronically. This project is designed to prepare for the implementation of the eFTI Regulation at national level. During the project, a cross-border, interconnected system of national eFTI gateways is being developed.
  • Additional information about the project: The project is being carried out in 9 EU member states (Estonia, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Lithuania, Belgium) with cross-border pilot projects, which will also be used across all 9 core-network corridors. In addition to the results mentioned above, the project is also drawing up technical specifications and a reference implementation for eFTI gateways, which other member states will also be able to use.
  • TIA’s role in the project: TIA takes part in this project by helping to publicise the requirements of the eFTI Regulation and by testing the eFTI gateways that have been developed.
