The Transport Innovation Association is the representative in Lithuania of EIT Urban Mobility – an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology that aims to become the most influential force for the transformation of urban mobility in Europe. This partnership opens up vast opportunities for international cooperation for Lithuanian towns and cities, businesses and communities working in the field of mobility innovation, offering extensive opportunities for international cooperation, participation in EU-funded projects, the development of innovative ideas, the creation of start-ups, and participation in international exhibitions and conferences.

TIA’s activities are carried out across four main areas:

• Community development – providing advice to Lithuanian companies and organisations in the mobility sector on opportunities for EIT UM membership, strengthening community ties, and access to international events and initiatives.
• Innovation development through funding – advice and participation in EIT Urban Mobility funding calls (Strategic Innovation, RAPTOR, SME).
• Accelerating start-up growth – support for start-ups to establish themselves, participation in growth and development programmes, and access to EIT UM investment.
• Talent for business – the RIS Education call for proposals and joint initiatives with universities tailored to the needs of the urban mobility market in Lithuanian cities.

Establishment of a representative office

Since July 2025, the Transport Innovation Association has been the official representative of EIT Urban Mobility in Lithuania.

Activities of the Representative Office

The establishment of an official representative office means that cities, businesses and academic institutions will have a much clearer and more accessible route to the opportunities offered by EIT UM.

The office operates across the four main areas of EIT Urban Mobility’s activities: bringing innovations to market, developing start-ups, community building and education.

Opportunities for Lithuania

In the field of innovation, EIT UM supports the piloting of market-ready solutions in real-world urban settings, for example in the areas of transport electrification, urban logistics, mobility data, and health and mobility. In terms of start-up development, the community offers venture capital investment, business mentoring programmes and support for market entry.

The representative office will help:

• join international project consortia,
• submit applications for funding,
• receive expert assistance,
• build long-term partnerships.
